BIg Sexy Episode 2 Recap and Review – 9/6/11

TLC- The second episode of TLC’s Big Sexy was much more substantial than the first. The Big Sexy Five really got down to some big business, tonight! Last week, it was all about meeting the women and getting to know them. But, this week, we really got to know what makes them tick!

After a fun evening out to ride a mechanical bull and get some drinks, the women really got down to business. Leslie and Heather dressed and styled a high profile client for her show, “Fat B*tch.” And, Tiffany discussed her history has a plus sized model. Did you know she was homeless, once? Yup! She lived in a hostel for two months before she got her modeling career started. But, thankfully, her 9-5 job keeps a roof over her head while she models. Unfortunately, she’s having trouble landing a gig. And, she may be in some more trouble because her agency needs her to drop an inch or two before landing her next job. That’s right, ladies- plus sized models have weight restrictions, too. It’s a tough profession!

Nikki Gomez had a tough episode, too. She broke up with her man! She and Tiffany met up to discuss.  The ladies got together, afterwards, for drinks, to discuss their man troubles. After a really interesting heart to heart about the types of relationships and men they prefer, Leslie decided to put together a party for plus sized women and men who want to date them. But, since their BBW party was a bust, last week, they set some guidelines: no chubby chasers and only meet with men who are interested in meeting and forming relationships. So, Leslie (who is clearly the organizer of the bunch) and Nikki decide to set up interviews for these men. You go, girls!

In the meantime, Tiffany saw a doctor in order to see why she can’t lose enough weight for her modeling gigs. They did find that she has a thyroid problem. Her doctor discussed some fitness plans and they are excited to get started.

At the singles party that they put together is a success. But, they do find a few strange stragglers, like the gentleman who actually had a girlfriend. Huh? There was also a bit of confusion between Nikki and Tiffany when the same guy talks to both of them. But, the good news is that Nikki is singly-mingling!

The episode ends with the Big Sexy Five checking out Erica Watson’s “Fat B*tch”  comedy show. They all had a great time and that’s the way it should be!

Next week, during the finale, Big Sexy goes to Miami! Heather invites the ladies to come to Miami with her for the photo shoot of her new bikini line.The ladies learn the emotional truth behind Heather’s motivation for launching her new line.
