What is Rush Limbaugh Smoking? Sandra Fluke Tirades Explained

WHAT?!?!?! Has anyone heard this tirade from Rush Limbaugh? This was a follow up to his original comment about Sandra Fluke, a third year law student who testified in front of congress, advocating for free birth control. Here is the original comment Limbaugh made:

“What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute,” Limbaugh said Wednesday. “She wants to be paid to have sex. She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We’re the pimps.”

Whoa whoa! Back up! What just happened here?

How this all came about was that Fluke testified before a House Democratic panel, telling a sad story about a female friend who lost an ovary because Georgetown’s student insurance would not cover the birth control she needed to treat a medical condition.

So,here’s the chronology of events:

1. Sandra Fluke Testifies about free birth control to treat medical conditions.

2. Rush Limbaugh inappropriately calls her a slut, misinterpreting the ENTIRE reason she even advocated for birth control in the first place!

3. Here’s where it gets good: President Barack Obama calls Fluke to give her his blessings. He then asks her to tell her parents that they should be very proud of her.

4. Limbaugh hears of this and AGAIN makes an inappropriate comment about her filming her sex life.
